Complete for the tax authority, discreet for you

RitGenie logs all kilometres, because that is what the tax authority requires. But the app carefully decides what is visible and with whom it is shared.

✓ Ready for the tax authority

Per trip: make, plate, usage period, start and end odometer, addresses with postcode, and the classification business, private or commute. Private kilometres always count towards the total.

✓ Private stays hidden, never deleted

Private kilometres do count, but the details (addresses, route, passengers) are hidden where they should be. RitGenie never throws anything away: hiding can be undone, deleting cannot. Set a trip back to business and everything reappears.

✓ Share only what is needed

The accountant version contains only business and commute trips. Anonymised sharing can be set per recipient.

Good to know

Do I have to enter or keep trips myself?

No. RitGenie recognises trips automatically and sorts them itself. Only when the app really cannot determine something does it ask one short question. It remembers that answer, so the same question does not come back.

What about the hardware?

A small unit is installed in your vehicle once. We arrange that beforehand. After that you do not have to connect or charge anything yourself. You sign up once and RitGenie logs everything automatically.

How does the app recognise who was driving?

Via Bluetooth RitGenie recognises which phone(s) were in the car. That way the app knows who was driving and who came along, without handing out or managing separate ID tags.

Is my log valid for tax purposes?

Yes. Per trip RitGenie records everything the tax authority requires: date, odometer readings, departure and arrival address with postcode, and the classification business / private / commute. The reports are complete and verifiable.

What happens to my private trips?

Private kilometres always count for tax purposes, but the details (addresses, route, passengers) are hidden where they should be. They are never deleted. Hiding can be undone, deleting cannot. See our privacy policy.

Can I manage multiple vehicles and drivers?

Yes. Under one account you manage multiple vehicles and drivers, with automatic driver recognition per trip. Ideal for fleets and teams.
