Install the app, sign up once (the unit is already built in) and set your preferences. After that, RitGenie recognises your trips automatically. Give the app permission for location, Bluetooth and notifications for the best performance.
A small unit is built into your vehicle once. We arrange that in advance. After that you don't have to connect or charge anything yourself; you sign up once and RitGenie records automatically.
Yes. RitGenie will be available for both Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store).
No. Trips are recognised and classified automatically. Only when the app really can't determine something does it ask one short question. It remembers that answer.
RitGenie learns your regular addresses and patterns. An address that you mark once as "always business" is classified that way automatically from then on. Commuting trips (home to work) are recognised by themselves.
Yes. A manual choice always overrides the automatic one. You can always restore or correct a trip; the app remembers your correction for the future.
If a trip is noticeably longer than the usual route, RitGenie recognises this as detour kilometres and tries to determine the reason automatically (for example roadworks or a road closure). If it can't, you can choose a reason yourself.
Via Bluetooth, RitGenie recognises which phone(s) were in the car. If only one recognised person was on board, that person automatically becomes the driver. With multiple occupants, the app briefly asks "who was driving?".
Yes. Under one account you manage multiple vehicles and drivers. You invite extra drivers with an email and a 6-character code.
The main user sends an invitation (email + code) and sets the permissions per person. Without a valid code, no one gets access.
A trip list per day/week/month/quarter/year, downloads in Excel and PDF, an hours report and an accountant version with only business and commuting trips. Reports can be emailed automatically.
Add a fixed recipient and choose the frequency (day/week/month/quarter/year), the format and whether it should be anonymised. The server then emails automatically, only completed periods and never twice.
RitGenie records everything the Dutch Tax Authority requires for each trip. You remain ultimately responsible for your own records; check with your bookkeeper if in doubt.
Private kilometres count for tax purposes, but the details are hidden where appropriate and never deleted. If you set a trip back to business, everything reappears. Read more in our privacy policy.
Yes. With the app lock you require a fingerprint, face or PIN for reports, settings, editing trips and downloads.
No. We use your data solely to make RitGenie work. See the privacy policy.
Trips are never thrown away; unknown trips go into a separate list where you can assign names in bulk. If your device temporarily had no network, observations are restored later retroactively. If it stays incorrect, email us.
Check whether notifications are turned on and whether RitGenie is excluded from battery optimisation. In the diagnostics (tap Settings 10x → Status & diagnostics) you can see the status of all connections.
Open Status & diagnostics and use "tap to test" (ping). If you see a red connection, report that error message via support, that helps us enormously.
We explain that step by step on the Delete account page.
Yes. You have the right to access, correction, deletion and more. Send your request to support@ritgenie.nl; see also §9 of the privacy policy.
